What can ceramic coating be applied to?

Cody Brace • January 29, 2023

We’ve talked at length about the benefits of ceramic coating and the lasting positive effects it can have on your car. Ceramic coatings do a great job of protecting your car’s exterior from the elements outside, it would be nice if it could be applied everywhere, right?

Luckily, ceramic coatings can be applied to just about any surface you can think of. Should you have the urge to ceramic coat your entire car, you can. The hydrophobic effects of the ceramic coating make it the perfect option for protecting your interior.

For those of us who like to keep food or drinks in our vehicles, ceramic coating is a very viable option. The protection provided by ceramic coatings makes for the perfect protection option for all different types of car interiors.

Leather

For those of us who have vehicles with a leather interior, there are more than just food and drink stains to be worried about. While stains from things such as food and drink are important, leather seats are prone to scratching as well.

Buttons from jeans and other types of work pants can lead to wear and tear over time that can eventually cause the leather to break down more quickly. Ceramic coatings can help protect the leather seats and improve the overall longevity of the seats while also helping retain their color, resist fading from sun, and be less prone to die transfer from clothing and jeans.

Fabric

The dashboard of most vehicles is made using one sort of hard plastic or another. Ceramic coatings can help prevent wear caused by the sun that will cause the color to fade and the plastic to harden further.

Coating your dashboard will also prevent things from sticking on there. We’ve all been there, driving along and noticing a spot on the dash only to feel it and find that it was left behind by something we had touched and then touched our dashboard.

While ceramic coatings cannot reverse the effects and damage that was already done before applying the coating to the dash, it will help prevent it if applied before any fading has been allowed to occur.

Hard Plastics

Using old rags or towels may not seem like a bad idea when it comes to giving your car a quick wash, but these towels may not be properly and effectively drying all the water on your vehicle.

Microfiber cloths that are made specifically for use on cars and more specifically for drying, such as a waffle weave drying towel, will help reduce the amount of left behind, thus resulting in less water marks. These towels will also absorb water more effectively in order to aid in the drying of the vehicle.

All Interior Coatings At Keystone Detail Are Added To Carfax

Just as is the case with exterior ceramic coatings, any interior coatings performed by us here at Brace Automotive are CarFax certified. This may help resale value when it comes time to sell your vehicle as it shows prospective buyers you’ve properly cared for the car by protecting it with a ceramic coating.

This also acts as proof of purchase in the event you were ever involved in an accident. Insurance companies will reimburse you for the cost to get the coating applied again after the accident as long as you can prove that there was a coating applied before the accident occurred, this will help with that.

The world of window tinting is shrouded in several myths, leaving many car enthusiasts unsure about its true value. These misconceptions can cloud judgment, causing hesitation or even leading to uninformed decisions that might affect your vehicle's appearance and adherence to local laws. From thinking window tint is solely for aesthetic purposes to assuming it's only applicable to cars, there's a lot that people get wrong. The top myths about window tinting include beliefs such as it is only for cars, it makes windows overly reflective, and it serves no practical purpose. In reality, window tinting offers extensive benefits such as energy savings, UV protection, and enhanced comfort in homes and offices, making it a versatile solution beyond mere aesthetics. Common Myths Surrounding Window Tinting Myth 1: Window Tinting is Only for Cars: It’s easy to think that window tinting is an automotive-only phenomenon, but this assumption couldn’t be further from the truth. Many individuals and businesses have discovered the benefits of applying window films in their homes and workplaces as well. For example, think about a sunny afternoon spent working at a computer; without proper sun control, glare can make it difficult to focus. By installing window film, a home office or conference room can transform into a comfortable space with reduced glare and increased privacy. Myth 2: Window Tinting Makes Driving at Night More Difficult: Many believe that tinted windows make it harder to see at night due to increased reflectivity or darkness. However, modern window tints are designed to balance visibility and privacy, ensuring clear sightlines at night without glare or reflection issues. High-quality automotive tints allow drivers to maintain excellent vision in low-light conditions while still benefiting from reduced daytime glare and UV protection. Myth 3: Window Tinting is Just for Aesthetics: While tinted windows can undeniably enhance a vehicle’s look, the benefits extend far beyond aesthetics. Quality tints provide critical UV protection, shielding the interior from fading and damage while reducing heat buildup in the cabin. This translates into a more comfortable driving experience, less strain on the air conditioning system, and even potential fuel savings, making it a practical investment. Myth 4: All Window Tinting Films are the Same: Some may think all window tinting films perform similarly, but this is far from true. Advancements in technology have led to a wide range of tints with varying levels of heat rejection, UV protection, and durability. High-performance films can block up to 99% of harmful UV rays and significantly reduce interior heat, providing superior protection and comfort for drivers, passengers, and the vehicle itself. Understanding the truths behind these misconceptions sets the stage for exploring the regulatory framework governing window tinting options available to consumers.
