THE KEYSTONE MONTHLY - January Edition
New Year, New Floor!
Over this past month there has been a few subtle but impactful changes to our shop. The most obvious being our new lay down flooring that we installed. Having planned this for a couple months when the day to execute finally came it was a swift, but all the same laborious process. Marcus and Isaac spent about two full days laying the panels down. Stripping away one quarter of the shop at a time and clicking together square foot by square foot, a whole new shape and feel of the shop for our customers.
What are the pros to having a floor like this?
A lay down floor like this may cost a pretty penny. But there are some huge long-term benefits that helped motivate us to make this decision for the shop's sake... Take cleaning for example, our bare concrete before was stained, chipped, and a bit of an eyesore when put in contrast to the cars that we take care of. So, when it came to cleaning, there really wasn't much of a difference we could make, even with scrubbing, pressure washing, and chemical treating. This new floor has a flow system underneath the tiles, so that when it comes time to clean, all we have to do to refresh it is a quick pressure wash and some degreaser. And that's just cleaning; another main reason is the quality of experience it brings to you. Above are some photos we took after the floor was installed. it brings another level of clearness and definition to your car when it's under our wing. And for how small of a change, it may seem to be, it works wonders. We invite you, whenever you've got the time, to stop out and see it in person it'd be our pleasure to show you around!
An official tint training course...
Last month we told you a little bit about our team Member, Isaac, beginning to practice automotive tint as well as some flat glass, well January we actually hired a trainer to give him some more real experience and lessons. The goal that he set in mind to take away from these lessons being that he becomes our full time Tint Expert instead of our Lead Technician.

Pictured above: Isaac "shrinks" a back window, one of the hardest things to learn when it comes to tinting full cars, but one of the crucial and keystone parts of being able to call yourself a Tint Expert. "Tint is something that can be so exciting and fun to learn, and in the same breath make you want to pull your hair out. When you first start learning it's both a battle and a dance in the sense that things can be gliding along fluidly and then you miss a step or make a minor mistake and have to repeat the entire process over again. That's the battle, worth it no doubt, but difficult all the same." - Isaac on what he thinks about the experience of learning tint as a whole.
Mobile Tech Expo!!!
This year at the end of January our team, along with two other local detailers (Evan Knox with Knox Details and Dominic Lopez with Dominics Detailing) took a trip down to Orlando, Florida for the 25th Annual MTE conference. This trip gave all of us a deeper look into detailing, a broader gaze at some of the new technology companies are designing to revolutionize the car care world. Being able to brush shoulders with some of the biggest names in the game, and meeting some of the kindest, most helpful, and inspirational people in the detail world has opened plenty of doors for the future of Keystone Detail. Giving us even more potential to expand our business into something that can be generationally passed down and guided into an even more customer centralized experience. Thank you on behalf of the entire team for making this possible for us.

Thank YOU for sending us to Florida!
We just wanted to take a final moment to say thank you for reading our newsletter. It means a lot to us that you’re here, staying in the loop and sharing in the journey with our team. Whether you’re a long-time customer or just checking us out for the first time, your support is what keeps us going. We hope you found something interesting, learned a thing or two, and felt a little more connected to what’s happening behind the scenes. We’re excited to keep sharing updates, stories, and a few surprises along the way. One of the biggest surprises that our team has to share about this past month was our trip to Orlando, Florida for MTE (Mobile Tech Expo) we couldn't have done it without you guys. Each year because of our loyal customers we'll always find a special way to treat our team to a relaxing vacation. And as for why we would bring other local detailers? We don't believe in competition, we believe the secret to living is giving there's always going to be enough cars for all of us, so why not bring them along to share in the gold nugget of knowledge that is MTE. A special thanks to those who gave tips this year as well, the tips you give fund special trips like this and make it possible for us to experience as much as we can in the realm of detail, and in the world at large! Thanks again for being part of the Keystone Detail family and keep an eye out for our next addition to our newsletter!
