Why we partnered with Stonehouse Electric to put a Tesla charger at our Waterford shop

A few months back, a customer dropped off their Tesla and asked if we had anywhere to plug in while we worked. We didn't, and we had to tell them so. The question stuck with us.
More of you across Waterford and Erie are driving electric. That's just the reality. And if you're trusting us with your vehicle for the day, we'd rather hand it back clean and with more range than it had when you dropped it off.
So we fixed it. As of this week, there's a Tesla charger at the shop, ready to use while your vehicle is in our hands.
Why Stonehouse Electric
We could've called any electrician. We called Stonehouse.
The truth is, we try to work with people who work with us. When a local business shows up, does the job right, treats their crew well, and stands behind their work, we want to send business their way. That's how we'd want to be treated, and it's how we think small businesses keep each other strong.
Stonehouse Electric handled the install start to finish — the panel work, the wiring, the cleanup. They were professional, honest about what the project would take, and didn't try to upsell us on anything we didn't need. Exactly the kind of partner we hope our customers see in us.
If you need an electrician in Erie, Waterford, or anywhere across northwest PA — residential or commercial — they're who we'd call again without hesitation.
What it means for you
Practically: if you drive an EV, your car can charge while it's with us. Drop it off, pick it up clean — with more range than it had when you brought it in.
It's a small thing. But small things add up to whether someone wants to come back.
A quick word on the charger
It's a Tesla charger, mounted at the shop and ready when you are. How much range you pick up depends on your vehicle and how depleted the battery is, but for the time your car is with us, most Teslas will get a meaningful top-up — enough that for most local trips, you'll leave with more range than you arrived with.
You don't need to call ahead. If you're bringing in an EV and want to plug in, just mention it when you drop off your keys and we'll position your car so it can reach.
One step better than yesterday
We don't do big, dramatic overhauls around here. What we try to do — every week, every month — is be a little better than we were the week before. Sometimes that's a new product line. Sometimes it's a process change in the shop. This time it was a charger.
None of it makes a great headline on its own. But over five years serving Waterford and the Erie area, those small upgrades are what have built the business we have now. We plan to keep at it.
If you want to be the first to try out the new charger, book your next appointment and let us know you're driving an EV — we'll make sure the spot's open for you.
And if you're in the market for an electrician, give Stonehouse a call. Tell them we sent you.
